About

These tutorials are a gateway to our training. Use them as a stand alone fitness program or combine them with other forms of fitness and self-defense training. We like to start with these stick fighting drills because of the way they build coordination, movement, overall cardiovascular fitness, and a formidable self-defense skill in its own right--the ability to pick up and use improvised intermediate weapons like a stick or stick-like object to defend oneself. If you can't immediately find an escape route and you have to fight off an attacker or group of attackers, it's best to use some kind of weapon to achieve distance/stand-off, and to increase striking power/effectiveness--allowing for a much greater chance of achieving the real goal--escaping the danger.
